♡ sunnie was previously a child actress, starring on american disney channel for several years, and korean dramas and movies from 2000 onward. she was often praised for her skill and potential to be a breakout star that would maintain her fame through adulthood.
♡ she has a positive public reputation from her childhood that still remains to this day, and she’s often called the "nation's angel" by longtime fans. this has led to a lot of fans rushing to her defense when she gets into attitude scandals, claiming that she could never act in such a manner or that she was justified to do so.

photography turns into commercial ads, those ads turn into small cameo roles on cable television, and those small roles as a toddler combined with her mother’s fierce pushing leads to sunnie traveling all the way from new york to california by herself to take on her first major role on a popular children’s show. she’s meant to be a star, or so she’s been told since her birth. and she follows along with it, since her tender age means she doesn’t know any better.they’re expected to be flooded with offers and comeback calls once sunnie makes her weekly debut on the television screen, but instead they’re hit with a brick wall. when her grandmother falls ill back in seoul, sunnie’s mother has the wise idea to move out to korea to care for the elderly woman and scope out the opportunities for fame there. at age eight she gets her first korean role, playing the daughter of the male lead in a movie. from then on, the roles keep coming over the years– a few dramas here and there, a few more movies, sealing her position as an up and coming child actress.then her mother gets a better idea.at age thirteen, sunnie starts training under a company to become an idol. mainly dance focused, her acting roles start to slow, coming to an eventual halt when she’s fifteen and debuts as the maknae and main dancer of a group called glimmer. her and four others are fed promises of success and fame in exchange for nonstop hard work, and they believe it, foolishly. less than a year later, glimmer falls apart when the company goes bankrupt, and the girls go their separate ways. most of them give up, but sunnie refuses to (or is unable to, due to the strong influence of her mother over her shoulder), and tries again under the newly formed dominant music records.february 14th, 2010. at age seventeen, sunnie debuts once again as the leader and lead vocalist of dm’s first group l:oveless. initially she’s highly skeptical, but those promises finally are granted when their debut song shoots up to the top of the charts. she can’t go anywhere in public without hearing her voice on the radio or being stopped by fans for autographs and pictures. their first comeback gets the same public reaction, followed by the next, and they’re almost unstoppable in their climb to the top. even when their original main vocalist is booted from the group, and sunnie quickly has to train to fill her shoes during promotions, l:oveless carries on as five members with that same energy and skill that they’re known for.in 2011 the opportunity comes for the group to promote in both china and japan, and the girls pack their bags, spending the next two and a half years traveling between shanghai and tokyo headquarters to learn the languages, record songs and perform, perform, perform. the group is well-received overseas, and they’re worked even harder to maintain that popularity. their korean popularity starts to fall though, as the group only returns to seoul once or twice a year for a comeback before returning to tokyo.it’s starting to take a toll on them. promoting for months straight without rest causes an assortment of injuries, all without the proper time to heal. pressure from officials above to lose weight hits sunnie the hardest, and the already self conscious girl develops an eating disorder that quickly spirals out of hand. fans start to notice her growing thinner and thinner (some compliment her on her slimming down while others begin to worry), and it gets harder and harder to hide the talk about her fainting spells backstage. the mistreatment from their overseas companies eventually comes to light, and it’s the wake up call needed to bring the group back to seoul for good.sunnie expects to be greeted with open arms when they return to korean stages. instead they’re met with silence and their lowest record sales yet, and the company immediately declares the group as on hiatus once the promotions wrap up. shortly after l:oveless is put on hiatus, another member files for early termination from the company, bringing the group roster down to four members. it starts to feel like the beginning of the end, a repeat of her short-lived glimmer days, and she starts to wonder where she went wrong and how she failed her fellow members. she refuses to see the time to rest and visit family, the chance for her to enter rehabilitation for her eating disorder, and the opportunities given to boost their resumes outside of music as anything good. it’s all a bad omen, a punishment for not handling what they were given well enough, and she continues to believe so until their hiatus ends in fall of 2015.it’s been a slow climb trying to reach the level of fame and recognition that l:oveless used to have, but the members, and sunnie especially, are determined to keep pushing forward. all of their struggles have to amount to something, and she’s willing to fight tooth and nail to ensure that her members are kept together despite everything that’s been thrown at them. in the end, their hard effort pays off-- 2018 is spent promoting back to back, regaining the popularity that they’ve lost over the years. they’re exhausted, but thrilled to hear crowds cheering their names once again, and even more thrilled when their beloved member chooses to rejoin the group after four years spent in japan. 2019 is dedicated to solo activities, where sunnie makes her long-awaited solo debut both in korea and america. by 2020, their tenth year of being active, l:oveless move on to open their own entertainment label, heart media. with the assistance of dominant music records, they begin to take control of their own activities, and even work to debut their own girl group with members that they’ve hand picked and trained.years of hard work and struggles have finally paid off, but sunnie has no intentions of slowing down yet.

As the first group debuted under Dominant Music Records, L:OVELESS (롭을엤) unexpectedly shot to the top of the charts with their debut song due to its infectious tune and catchy dance. From then, the six member group became popular for their party and dance tunes, however the departure of one of their members in 2011 and the controversy that followed somewhat damaged their reputation. The group continued to push on as five, eventually making their debuts in Japan and China where their popularity was also growing.Ten years into their career, they’re considered to be an inspiration to many younger idols. Their older songs are considered second generation classics, while their newer releases are chart-toppers. Even with several minor scandals over the years, L:OVELESS is thought of as legends, and a small company success story. sunnie made her debut as a soloist on FEBRUARY 19TH, 2019, and was the last member of her group to do so. known for her vocal abilities, she subverts expectations by focusing more on her dance abilities and general performance skill, and rarely ever dabbling in ballads. to no surprise, her debut track 12:00 was well received, with the vocalist earning seven music show wins during her promotional period, and winning a MAMA award for best solo dance performance.she explained in an interview that her solo music is meant to put on a breathtaking show, and she has hired an exclusive team of dancers, live musicians, and special effects technicians to work on her music. all of this comes with a high price tag, and it’s been revealed that sunnie pays for the majority of the production of her korean and american solo work herself.

vocals: 9/10. proud of her sweet sounding vocals and ability to belt out high notes almost effortlessly.
rap: 2/10. it’s not something she’s bothered to give any time of day since it would ruin her sweet image. she tends to get tongue tied when it comes to more complex verses.
